To assist learning disabled persons and their families. To encourage and support:
Research in the field of learning disabilities Appropriate legislative initiatives The community at large to develop an awareness of, and empathy for and an interest in the problems faced by learning disabled persons.
To acquaint professionals working in the fields of education, recreation, legislation and justice, health, social services, vocational training and employment, with the current literature and research in the field of learning disabilities.
This summer LDA-N has partnered with the YMCA of Niagara. We are offering a one week camp session for families in four locations across the Niagara Region.
Are you worried that your child has any of the following difficulties:
• Thinking, listening, or speaking effectively
• Reading, writing, or spelling
• Performing well in math
• Communicating or behaving appropriately in social situations
This summer LDA-Niagara is offering a camp for children 5-10 years of age, who experience difficulties with learning (i.e. learning disabilities, learning difficulties, ADD/ADHD) Children will participate in a structured program fostering social, literacy, numeracy, fine motor, and gross motor skills, and team building exercises in a friendly environment. In the afternoon children will participate in recreational activities (i.e. swimming, games, arts and crafts).
